Modern brides are big fans of colored wedding themes. They are very excited about the myriad of trends based on colorful wedding dresses, shoes and accessories. The same thing we can say about the wedding ring. Even this classic piece of jewelry can be nowadays seen featuring colored stones. We can talk about fancy colored diamonds or semi-precious gemstones.

Let’s take the last option for instance. Gemstone rings are very aesthetical and eye-catchy. They come in a wide palette of colors and styles. They are more affordable than diamond rings. Nevertheless, we’ve seen many ruby wedding rings with a higher price tag than of a diamond ring. Gemstones are attractive alternatives to traditional diamonds when it comes to engagement rings and anniversary rings. They are rarely incorporated in wedding rings but this doesn’t mean that you can’t follow this style. There are many criteria to consider when choosing the best stone for a wedding ring. These can be emotional or physical implications of the decision. Gemstone wedding rings offer a tremendous variety of styles and designs that can fit many brides’ personality and individual style.

There are designs that mimic traditional diamond wedding rings and designs that are a bit more elaborated and less usual. You are free to pick the style that suits you best. Solitaire gemstone rings are the most difficult to find. And this is because many couples prefer solitaire diamond wedding rings accented with gemstones. The colored gems are more frequently used as accented stones and not as central stone selections. But if you do want a sapphire solitaire wedding ring instead of a diamond you can buy a loose gem. The ring can be then fancied based on the gem setting you like. The three stone ring styles are a bit more popular. They are easier to find compared to solitaire gemstone rings. The three stones represent the couple’s past, present and future. They look extremely outstanding when set with gemstones. The three stones can be matching or complimentary stones.

The central gem can be a more expensive selection or the bride’s favorite, while the other two can be different gems or even colorless diamonds! You can also find eternity ring bands based on colored gemstones. Replace the diamonds with colored stones and you will obtain a more unique and personalized look at a more attractive price. We also like the floral figural rings based on vintage designs. Choose your own birthstone for the ring and obtain a more symbolic design. The most popular gems used for engagement rings and wedding rings are: rubies, sapphires, emeralds and pearls. These are the most common options, but you can find many other beautiful semi-precious stones with a unique sparkle and vibrancy. Choose amethyst, pink tourmaline, aquamarine, topaz, tanzanite, garnet, alexandrite or opal for your ring. You can focus on a unique stone-mix or choose a single gem for a more elegant and stylish ring. We personally like the cluster rings and those based on an antique design.
